Fall Colors on Skyline Drive

My wife Sharon has been asking me for years to take her up to Skyline Drive to see the Fall Colors. So today Sharon, Thara, and I drove up to Skyline Drive to rejoice in the splendor. Sharon and Thara had never been to Skyline Drive. Sharon loves bright colors. Her favorite color is orange. So we packed some food and drinks, brought along the camera and a couple of Zappa CD's for the road and went. By the time we got there Thara was crashed out in the back seat and at first she refused to get up to see the views. It must have been the chili dog in Haymarket. Here are some of the pictures from our trip. Hope you enjoy.

Thara is still crashed out at this point.

Still Asleep Behind The Window.

She finally perked up when we told her we needed her expert photography skills.

Awake at last.

The rest of these pictures were taken by Sharon, Thara, and Me.  (Mostly Sharon)

Pop In Local News Paper

Here's a pic of my father in law Eugene Magsipoc. This photo will be used in a local Iloilo Philippines news paper called "The News Today". The article is about Pop and his recent journey to Washington DC. He is pictured here at the driver's seat in an SUV wearing a US Space Shuttle jacket I bought him at the National Air and Space Museum. He is very proud of that jacket and wore it especially to show it off for this photo op. Pop. You look great in your jacket.

Adopting Thara (Final)

My adoption of Thara is final, and legal. Her name is now officially, "Thara Camille Jackson". The judge signed the ruling on July 14, 2011. This is also French Independence Day, Bastille Day.

Dragon Great for The Mind Fog

I am dictating this blog on speech recognition software, called Dragon. Here's the way it works. I speak into a Bluetooth microphone hanging off my left ear, and Dragon types what I say into notepad.

Then when I finish dictating, I copy everything and paste it into another program called WhiteSmoke. WhiteSmoke corrects grammar and spelling automatically. When I am happy with the finished product, I paste that text into my Blog. Pretty cool. Huh.
