Today I finally produced a half way decent video of a Brown Thrasher.  I don't know how long they will be in the vicinity.  The Audubon web site states they are only in my area during breeding season. https://www.audubon.org/field-guide/bird/brown-thrasher

Identified at 16:30 two American Tree Sparrows fighting on the ground.  At first I thought it was 1 American Tree Sparrow that was injured but when I got closer I could see it was 2 of them fighting.  This went on for about a minute and then Identified at 16:30 a Red Shouldered Hawk swooped in and snatched up both American Tree Sparrows.  See video Below.

Not a bird but very interesting. I saw a Mountain Lion just on the other side of the N fence in my back yard at 11:30 this morning. It looked me right in the eye at a distance of about 30 meters. I saw it through binoculars and then it silently moved behind the bushes out of site. No further sightings of the Mountain Lion today. I will look into getting a stationary wildlife motion sensor camera.

Identified at 16:00 a Pileated Woodpecker on my magnolia tree in the back yard.(See Image Below)

Identified and video recorded a Northern Mockingbird fight at 16:30. They had been flying very close to my head all day. I have since researched that they can be aggressive not only to other birds but Humans too. Saw lots of Cardinals of both sexes today, lots of Robins, lots of Blue Jays, and lots of Northern Mockingbirds.

My son told me yesterday that a Bird Watching Diary is well and good but I need to include pics with my identifications and observations.  So until I receive my digital camera binoculars I will use my cell phone.  So from now on I will include pics.

Identified at 10:30 a Blue Jay flying between trees in my back yard and neighboring trees.  Squawking a lot making a lot of noise.  The Blue Jay seemed to be chasing other birds away from their perches. The Blue Jay chased away a Northern Mocking Bird that was perched in the scraggly vine ridden tree behind the neighbor’s garage to the W of my back yard.  Robins were on the ground in my back yard and they seemed un-phased.

Identified at 13:30 a White-Throated Sparrow rustling around in the trees on the E side of the house. (See Image Below) Non-Binocular Viewing.
